We are gearing up to submit
our Charter Application to the Georgia Department of Education (GDOE).
This will be the final phase of the approval process. We are having a
planning meeting next week to discuss:
- Draft Charter Application
- Project Plan
- Facilities Plan
We
will be submitting our charter application to GDOE by August 1. Please
join us if you can.

The Intown Academy is a proposed public charter school serving K-8 students. Pending approval of our charter application, the expected start-up date is July 2010.
Our charter application was approved by the Atlanta Board of Education on Monday, June 8, 2009. The next step in the approval process is to submit our charter application (by August 1, 2009) to the Georgia Department of Education for their approval.
The Location of the Intown Academy will be announced soon. The Site Selection Committee is negotiating on properties located in the Old Fourth Ward and Midtown communities.
