Ensuring that students experience a world-class education in an innovative, community based public school setting!

It is my distinct pleasure and honor to serve as your Governing Board chairperson for the upcoming school year.  Our Board of Directors is an exceptionally dedicated group of educators and business professionals who have a sincere desire to contribute their time, talents and treasure to build The Intown Academy.  I would like to thank our education service provider, EdisonLearning, and the southeast regional team for their commitment and dedication to assisting the Board operationalize The Intown Academy.  The Intown Academy is an EdisonLearning partnership school, offering the powerful Four Cornerstones^TM Design of highly effective schools.  We also welcome our faculty and staff an outstanding group of educators and business professionals who will provide our students with the tools necessary to become life-long learners.  I take great pride in having the opportunity to work with such an outstanding team of volunteers and professionals, who seek to make our school an educational center of excellence.

In the coming year, the Board will work diligently to ensure that The Intown Academy remains a viable and enduring academic institution.  With a student body expected to be just over 500 in grades K-6, and a rigorous academic program, it is incumbent among all of us to work in partnership to maintain high academic quality and learning with integrity.

Additionally, several organizations and businesses have partnered with The Intown Academy with the goal of ensuring a safe, positive, and nurturing environment that fosters the intellectual, physical and social growth of students.  The Board continues, through its strategic planning process, to lay out a comprehensive vision for the school.  Our leadership team supports these efforts helping to foster ideas that develop your child’s individual learning styles and talents.

And lastly, as members of the K-12 charter education community, we know the amount of energy and resources that go into recruiting and retaining our students.  This year we will focus on enhancing The Intown Academy experience for students and creating opportunities for our parents to be involved in their children's education.

We will continue to inspire trust within The Intown Academy community ensuring a strong voice for our students.  I challenge you to look for opportunities at The Intown Academy where you can serve and play an active role in the future of this wonderful school.
